Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Iliev Batashki, MD was born on January 24, 1982 in the city of Plovdiv, Plovdiv region. In 2006 he graduated with a Master’s degree in Medicine at the Medical University of Plovdiv. In 2009 he graduated with a Master’s degree in Health Management. Acquired a medical specialty in “Surgery” in 2013, later in 2017 – a second specialty “Thoracic Surgery”. He started working as a surgeon in 2007 at the Clinic of Thoracic and Abdominal Surgery at the University Hospital “St. George”- Plovdiv, where he still works today. In 2008, Dr. Batashki, MD was appointed after a competition for an assistant in the Department of Special Surgery at the Medical University – Plovdiv. In 2017 he was appointed Chief Assistant at the Department of Special Surgery at the Medical University of Plovdiv. In 2016 he defended a dissertation for the scientific and educational degree “Doctor” on “Changes in homeostasis in extensive intestinal resections and an approach to correction in the adaptation period. “ In 2019 he was elected municipal councilor in the Municipal counsel – Plovdiv. In 2022 he acquired the academic title of associate professor at the Medical Institute of the Ministry of the Interior of Sofia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Iliev Batashki MD is based researcher with teaching experience in health care and physician professionalism and meaningful social activity with a large volume of scientific production, with very good performances as a tutor to participate in the writing of textbooks, manuals and monographs.

Since 2018 is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Journal” Modern medical problems “. Member of the Bulgarian Surgical Society and the Bulgarian Medical Union.
